Mario Moran is an athlete, coach and motivational public speaker.
As a member of the 2015 Miami Heat Wheels Championship team, Mario was named to 1st Team All-Tournament. He currently plays for the University of Arizona Wildcats wheelchair basketball team.
His story is featured in the award-winning documentary, The Rebound.
Born the middle child of three in the late 1980's in Hoboken NJ, Home of the great Frank Sinatra. Mario was raised in a tough Neighborhood in Union City, New Jersey, to a Puerto Rican mother and a Cuban father. A problem child with little to no support Moran grew up listening to the constant “you will never amount to nothing!” and “you will end up flipping burgers or in jail!”
Fueled by the constant voices in his life telling him what he couldn’t do. Moran is committed to living a life doing the unexpected and his mission is simple, “Be better than you were yesterday!”
As an rising athlete, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Mario's mission is to recreate himself, sharing his experiences with others to inspire true leaders of all ages and every walk of life.
In Moran’s words, “If you’re lacking in some areas of your life, let me be your shot of espresso.”
Getting shot was a major eye opener for Moran. He realized everything that was instilled in his head growing up was not true. “You’re either gonna end up in jail or dead if you keep on living that life style.” No one ever mentioned ending up in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, an outcome that would become his greatest blessing.
