REBOUND BLOG POST SERIES - JEREMIE - BULLIES

Bullying comes in many forms, but no one is immune to it. Jeremie “Phenom” Thomas of The Rebound and Miami Heat Wheels shares one of his most difficult bullying experiences.  Then he wrote a powerful new song about it.

Jeremie was born prematurely and diagnosed with cerebral palsy and spina bifida due to a prenatal injury. Nevertheless, Jeremie continues to live an extraordinary life performing on the court as a top NWBA wheelchair basketball player, Team Per4max athlete, and on the stage an up-and-coming hip-hop recording artist.

Watch below and share if you know someone who needs to hear “Bullies” by Phenom.

Lyrics for “Bullies” by Phenom

Man you got kids killing themselves because of bullying.

I’ve been there before….

I’ve been dealing with a bully

I’ve been dealing with a bully

Turnt me into a pit bull

Turnt me into a pit bull

I was 12 years old feeling pain like a man

Trying to figure out who were my real friends

My brothers they my brothers and i never doubted that

If worst comes to worst in the end they got my back

But when it came to school i really needed somebody

Other then my close kin to fit in and feel cool

I was label as a misfit you know

The first to get laughed at

The last to get picked

Really made me sick

They only with you when it’s beneficial

For skipping lunch lines and early dismissal

Ain’t it’s crazy how humans

Treat another human like they ain’t human

What’s wrong with Humanity?

I fight for peace in order to keep my sanity

Peer pressure killing babies like a plan b

Another child lost his life because of bullying

Like derrick rose I’m sick and tired of all the Bull****

I’ve been dealing with a bully

I’ve been dealing with a bully

Turnt me into a pit bull

Turnt me into a pit bull

(Repeat 2x)

I’ve been dealing with some things that only god can translate

I’ve cried so many tears I can fill up a whole lake

They say they feel my pain but they don’t really feel the same

In order to ease the pain I could’ve put it to my brain

They say they got my back but up and left when it was pressure

Nobody by my side when I was lying on that stretcher

Even though you may be different little homie you really special

Don’t let em ridicule belittle you because you’re gifted

Blessed with the tools to handle any given mission

I remember those days when I was just a little pup

Afraid of my potential so they kept me on the leash

Telling me that I can’t be what I want to be limited me physically

They was verbally abusive calling me a loser

But I never got used too being what I used too

Be have mercy on me

I’ve been dealing with a bully

I’ve been dealing with a bully

Turnt me into a pit bull

Turnt me into a pit bull

(Repeat 2x)
